Margie Shockey

Financial Coordinator

Our employee spotlight for this issue is on Margie Shockey.  Margie has worked in our front office for just over six years.  All of our patients know her for her warm greeting as you first enter our office door.  We’ve asked Margie to share with you some of her history and her life outside of her profession.

Oh boy, this is tough.  Trying to write about myself isn’t easy.  I would much rather be visiting with all of you!  I truly believe that our office has fantastic patients, it’s you who make my job fun!  I want to thank all of you for sharing your stories, vacation photos, jokes and families with me.  Each and every one of you are very special and you each play a part in making our office stand above all others.

I have lived in Central Oregon since I was 8 years old.  I graduated from Redmond High School in 1972, which is the same year that I married my absolutely wonderful husband, Gary.  We were blessed with two beautiful children, Tonisha who is 31 and Trenton who is 30.  Our children are wonderful and have brought us many happy memories.  A true miracle came into our lives eight years ago when our only grandchild was born.  Mackenzie decided to make her appearance three months earlier than planned.  From the moment that she was born, she has touched our hearts in a very special way and made us realize what is truly important in life.

My family is what is most important to me.  I feel very fortunate that my children, parents, and brothers all live here in Central Oregon .  The best times spent are when we all get together at my parents home to play a “friendly” game of poker.  When we are not playing cards we enjoy playing marbles, camping, fishing, hunting and taking relaxing boat rides.

Dr. Coombe, Dr. Jones and the entire staff in our office work together as a team, and we all truly care about each other.  I believe that is what makes our office unique.
