Our July employee spotlight shines on Tara Doty.
Tara
has been with us for over five years primarily as a chairside assistant. In 2006, she accepted a new position of Hygiene Coordinator, which is responsible for maintaining of the hygiene schedule and programs and operations within the Hygiene Department. In this article we have asked
Tara
to give us a glimpse of her life outside of Coombe-Jones.
I am a native Central Oregonian. I was raised in Prineville and graduated from
Crook
County
High School
in 1994. After a brief stint in college I found a niche in dentistry as a chairside assistant. It has been an incredibly rewarding career, as I love to care for others and have been able to get to know many incredible patients through this work. My recent switch to Hygiene Coordinator has given me a great opportunity to experience the “front-of-house” activities of a dental office.
I have been married for 10 years to my wonderful husband Chris. We have a beautiful daughter, Mae, who is every bit of three years old! We love our life here in
Redmond
, and we have plenty of family and friends close by to share quality time. We also attend
Redmond
Community
Church
.
To celebrate our recent 10-year wedding anniversary, Chris and I took a once-in-a-lifetime trip to
Italy
. We visited
Rome
,
Florence
(and the
Tuscany
region), and
Venice
on a 12-day whirlwind trip. I have always enjoyed traveling, cooking and photography, so this was a dream vacation for me!
I have been a dental assistant for nearly 12 years, and my first job was with Dr. Coombe in 1995 after completing a brief dental assisting course through a private consulting firm. After he finished building his new office in 2002, I was given the opportunity to work with him again as his chairside assistant, which I happily accepted! I enjoyed assisting and now love working up front, as this is a very special office full of incredibly caring people. Dr. Coombe has also created a unique working environment, where his long-term employees truly feel respected and valued in their daily work. It is an amazing place to come to work every day, and I feel blessed to have an office full of friends to enjoy it with, as well as the chance to meet such wonderful patients on a daily basis!
